Terms and conditions

Please read these product terms and conditions carefully as they set out the terms under which Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances (operated for Sainsbury's by DRL Limited) makes the products available to you (“Product Terms”). You as the customer will transact with DRL Limited.


Prices

The prices payable for the items that you order are clearly set out on the web site. All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable. The price of the items does not include the delivery charge. The delivery charge is £19.56* (£29.99 Northern Ireland). Prices can change and we always bring you the latest prices as quickly as possible.

*Please note that there is an additional charge of £4.88 for deliveries made on a Saturday and £9.77 for Next Day Deliveries (available in Mainland UK only).


Product dimensions

It is important to note that the product dimensions do not include any protruding features such as, controls and handles etc. Product dimensions represent the casing of the appliance only.


Availability

If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will notify you as soon as possible. Payment will be taken for out of stock appliances to secure stock, only if you are happy to proceed with the order and agree to wait for the appliance.


Contract

There will be no contract of any kind between you and us until payment for your goods is authorised by your bank or credit card issuer. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that payment for the goods is authorised, (and not before), a contract will be made between you and us. Authority for payment must be given at the time of the order. Payment for your order will be taken once stock availability has been confirmed. If for any reason the goods can not be supplied then payment will be refunded in full. Refunds can take up to 30 days as per the Distant Selling Directive.


Delivery

Delivery will be made to the address specified by you. Please note that our standard delivery of products is within mainland UK, including the Isle of Wight. All deliveries will be made to you by our courier. We do our best to secure delivery within 2-7 working days of the date of your order. If you order and specify items with different delivery dates, we will ship them separately and you will be charged a delivery charge each time. The cost for delivery is £19.56 (£29.99 Northern Ireland) regardless of the number of items delivered, on a particular date. There is an additional charge of £4.88 for deliveries made on a Saturday and £9.77 for Next Day Deliveries (Please note, this service is only available to UK mainland postcodes). Surcharges may apply for special deliveries where there are access restrictions. If you are not at home for a pre-arranged delivery then we reserve the right to charge you £19.56 (£29.99) again to redeliver your order. If you wish to change the delivery date once it is agreed then please give us no less than 2 working days notice prior to delivery. If less than 2 working days is given, an additional £19.56 (£29.99 Northern Ireland) may be charged.

It is your responsibility to check the appliance before signing for the goods. We cannot accept liability for goods damaged after delivery if signed for in perfect condition. We recommend that where required you book any fitters for the day after delivery. Deliveries to commercial properties could void your warranty.


Rapid delivery

Rapid delivery is available on selected products only. We will endeavour to get your appliances to you as soon as 2 working days. When this is not possible a suitable alternative delivery date will be offered. There are no additional charges for this service. This service is available for mainland UK deliveries only. All other Terms and Conditions apply, including those for additional services.


Next day delivery

There is an additional charge of £9.77 payable for next day deliveries. In order to qualify for next day delivery, orders must be placed before 12 noon on the day before your required delivery date*. We will endeavour to get your new appliances to you the next day. When this is not possible a suitable alternative delivery date will be offered. All other Terms and Conditions apply, including those for additional services.

*Please note, next day delivery is only available on orders placed Monday to Friday. This service is only available in mainland UK.


Connection

You can request that our delivery team connect your freestanding washing machine, washer dryer or dishwasher. This must be done at the point of order and a charge* will be made for each item. Connection can be carried out to an existing standard domestic appliance water connection situated within one metre of the appliances location and to a suitable existing 13 amp socket within reach of the appliance’s power lead. Included in the connection will be the removal of transit brackets and a test of the appliance.

The delivery team will be unable to connect your new appliance if:

  • The old machine is not disconnected.
  • Any electrical/plumbing supplies needed fail the delivery team’s testing or are considered unsuitable.
  • ny water supply needed cannot be isolated or is unsuitable.
  • The pipes are not in full working order and are not within 1.5m of the appliance
  • Any drainage/waste facilities needed are unsuitable
  • Mechanical adjustments are required to the appliance(s) to overcome such things as water pressure problems.
  • Alterations to existing plumbing and electrical wiring are required i.e. hard wired.
  • Any alterations are required to existing cupboards or cabinets.

Connection of a freestanding washing machine, washer dryer or dishwasher to suitable existing plumbing and plug socket is £14.68 per item.

*We reserve the right to retain the connection charge if connection fails for any of the reasons mentioned above.

Recycling

You can request that our delivery team collect and recycle your old appliance. This must be done at the point of order and a charge will be made for each item**. We have a maximum pick up weight of 50Kg.

All goods for collection and recycling must be disconnected from all water, electrical and gas supply in advance of the goods being removed. All appliances should be emptied and, in the case of refrigeration, products defrosted. Only like for like appliances can be collected for recycling. Collected goods for recycling are deemed to have zero value.

** Recycling for each appliance is £7.82.

* We reserve the right to retain the recycling charge if collection fails for any of the reasons mentioned above.

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your order we ask that you advise us at least 2 working days before your planned delivery date and you will receive a full refund. Where the goods have been delivered to you, you may return them for up to 7 working days from the date of delivery in line with the distance selling directive. We reserve the right to charge you to collect the goods and to charge you for any damage that may have occurred whilst the goods have been in your possession, if necessary. No goods can be returned to store for a refund – All Cancellations must be processed via Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances. For further information and charges please see – Returns. This does not affect your statutory rights.


Returns

If you decide to return your goods to us for any reason we do reserve the right to charge you £49.99 for collection. Please do not return any products to Sainsbury's stores. Refunds can only be made by the same method used for purchase. If for any reason you need to return an item within 7 days of receiving delivery, please call the Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances customer help line (0870 11 222 02) and advise a member of our team that you wish to return the product and the reason for return. We will then organise for the goods to be collected by our courier usually within 5-7 days. The charge for collecting goods is £49.99 which reflects the actual cost of collection. Under the terms of the distance selling directive you as the customer have a duty of care for the product whilst it is in your possession. If products are damaged by you and subsequently returned, a charge will be made to repair the product to its original condition. Please be aware that where repair is not economically viable no refund will be made. Your statutory rights are not affected. Items purchased at Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances cannot be returned to a Sainsbury's store. Nectar points will be removed from your account at the rate of two points per pound refunded on a purchase.


Payment

You can pay with any Maestro, Delta, MasterCard or Visa card. Your payment card details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. It may be necessary to re-confirm your security number for data protection reasons. Payment will be taken for out of stock appliances to secure stock, only if you are happy to proceed with the order and agree to wait for the appliance. Our liability to you in respect of an order shall be limited to the value of that order (to the fullest extent permitted by all applicable law), and we shall not be liable to you for any economic loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, wasted expenditure, depletion of goodwill, loss of privacy or loss of data or any other claims for indirect, consequential, special or punitive compensation whatsoever howsoever caused including, without limitation, as a result of our negligence, which arise out of or in connection with an order. For the avoidance of doubt nothing in these terms and conditions excludes our liability in respect of death or personal injury caused by our negligence. We accept internet orders only from Web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, for example, 3.0 version or higher of Explorer and versions 3.02 or higher of Netscape. This means you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured connection.

We also offer periodical promotions to enable you to buy the products and pay for them at a later date. The full terms and conditions for these promotions will be supplied to you prior to any goods being shipped. You will be asked to sign and return a form to confirm you have received and agree to these terms.


General

These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts. If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.


Nectar Points

All of the products featured in the Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances catalogue and on the Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances website allow you to earn Nectar points at a rate of 2 Nectar points for every £1 you spend, (excluding delivery costs, connection/recycling costs, warranties and collection/removal fees). Nectar points will be credited to your account 28 days after your delivery being made and accepted. Unfortunately, at present, Nectar Points can not be redeemed against purchases made on the Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances.

Points Promotions

  • All offers can not be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotional code.
  • There are no cash alternatives to any offer.
  • We reserve the right to end any offer at any time, without notice.
  • All offers apply whilst stocks last.
  • All points awarded in line with the product price and do not include charges for delivery, connection and recycling.
